Review summary
Based on recent reviews

The Farmers Union enjoys a very central location, convenient for accessing the town center, university, and Exeter Central train station, which is less than a 5-minute walk away. Guests appreciate the provision of tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms, along with ensuite bathrooms in some rooms. While the rooms are generally considered comfortable, some guests have occasionally found them to be cold, with portable radiators sometimes not proving sufficient. Its proximity to many restaurants, shops, and a public car park located directly behind the hotel, further enhances its appeal.

Mixed Feelings about This Stay

poor flowthin duvets
The room lacked adequate heating. There was only a small plug-in radiator. The thin duvets were insufficient for the cold weather. the shower had very hot water, yet the flow was quite poor. It took a long time to rinse shampoo.

the staff were friendly and helpful. the food was lovely, and it was great that tea and coffee facilities were available. bedding and towels were clean, which i appreciated (it's the little things!).
the shower had barely any water pressure, so the shower wasn't a pleasant experience. there was no fan in the room. the mattress was also very uncomfortable and unsupportive.
